Local miners have helped identify key exploration targets, with significant gold production from saprolite. In 2011–2012, Iamgold confirmed gold mineralization over 600 meters. Current focus is on the Poeketi-Randy Pit trend, with additional targets defined by mining activity, geophysics, Lidar, and geochemical sampling.
